Ten years ago, I wrote what has become one of my most popular and performed works, ALTOSTRATUS, originally for four Alto Saxophones & Organ. There have been many versions made since, including saxophone Ensemble, Brass Band, Wind Ensemble, etc but to mark this occasion, I have multi-tracked a new version recorded on the NEW Selmer Supreme Alto Saxophone – what a stunning instrument this new Alto is. I’m so happy for Selmer that they have moved the acoustic and ergonomic qualities of this instrument forward to a game-changing level. Really enjoying getting to know this new instrument, and thought it would be fun to make a recording on the SUPREME to mark the tenth birthday of this piece. Enjoy!
